11:45am - 12:45pm Shamanic Drum Meditation - Ashley Ray

We will prepare the body to enter meditation with some light yogic stretching and intention setting. Then, the shamanic drumbeat will lull you into a hypnotic trance-state. Deeply relaxing and restorative, this state of open, relaxed awareness provides an opportunity for you to journey through your subconscious mind to find hidden gems that may illuminate forgotten answers to your soulful questions. Bring your yoga mats, blankets, journal, and anything else you would like in order to get comfortable.

Ashley's journey as a Practitioner of the Healing Arts began over 16 years ago when she began studying Iyengar yoga, meditation and psychology as a way to discover inner peace, find balance and align herself with her highest purpose and expression.

She is a Yogini, Certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Holistic Psychotherapist, and Energy Worker that blends contemporary, traditional and indigenous healing practices to guide others through their personal journey of healing, awakening and enlivening mind, body, heart and soul.

Leigh maxey

1pm - 2pm Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® with Leigha Maxey

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® Kundalini Yoga is known as the Yoga of Awareness. It awakens & expands our consciousness and helps us to balance our inner world.  It strengthens the nervous system, balances the glandular system, purifies the body and calms the mind. The focus of the class is awakening the kundalini energy through pranayama, yoga asana, chanting and meditation. Each class is different, as we practice a kriya, (sequence of posture, breath & sound).

Leigh was awakened from darkness into the light through kundalini yoga about 14 years ago, through the guidance of Andriane Wolf. She received her teacher certification in 2018, through KRI, (Kundalini Research Institute). She continues to grow & receive much expansiveness through sadhana, (daily practice) and teaching the last 5 years.  She is very grateful for the opportunity to share with others, as well as to be a part of the Golden Chain of Kundalini Yoga. She is also a Reiki Master, Gong Master & minister. She shares a love for sound healing & energy, as well as yoga. She offers group or individual classes.

NEIL KENNER

12pm - 1pm Steel Mace Yoga Flow in the Grand Auditorium

For athletes and “normal” human beings alike, it is in our best interest to partake in workouts that challenge us in ways similar to what we would see in our sport (or just in the sport of life). Many of the commonly performed movements and sequences require a great deal of coordination, working both the body and the brain itself.  Even the simplest of combinations require a noteworthy amount of coordination to pull off. Steel Mace Flow leverages the body’s natural movement and strength and provides a functional and fun way to get fit with finesse.

Neil invites you to try it: “Whether it is your inner/outer warrior, your suppressed inner dancer, or whatever archetype you become when holding this beautiful tool in your hands, I encourage you to enter into a state of FLOW: a representation of true freedom. Freedom from inhibition, from judgement, from troubling thoughts, feelings, and anything that may be weighing you down. These can often can be the demons from within your own self. I know several people whose steel mace flow practice has become one that brings inner calm, peace, and provides the uplifting and healing benefits that no medicine could ever match. Whether you decide to go this deep with your practice or not, I believe we all need to be aware of the incredible possibilities and powers that the steel mace beholds.”

Taylor Seideman

12:30 - 1:30PM Kid’s Yoga with Yogees Yoga 4 Kids co-founder and kids mindfulness visionary. Taylor says: “Personally, I have found yoga to be such an asset to my life; it has changed me in such amazing ways. Because of that, I wanted to share this with children. First of all, yoga is a non-competitive sport. How many things can we say that about today? Yoga builds self-esteem and self respect. It promotes physical strength, balance and flexibility. One of the greatest things about a child’s yoga practice is that it is imaginative and helps in developing their creative thinking skills. Yoga also helps to work on the importance of posture. It is amazing to see how something as simple as standing up straight makes you feel better and more confident! Yoga also helps children to understand the importance of respect for self and others. Not only is this part of the “yoga mantra”; but it also benefits our day-to-day relationships.

Ariel Gunn

2:30pm - 3:30pm Traditional Ashtanga with Ariel Gunn

Ashtanga is a highly structured vinyasa-style class. There are five Ashtanga asana series and each student must master every pose of the first series before moving onto the second series. Ashtanga Yoga came to the west through students of Sri Pattabi Jois, who passed away in 2009 after establishing his yoga center in Mysore, India.

The first series begins with ten sun salutations (five A and five B), continues with a series of standing poses done on each side, and finishes with a set of inversions and seated poses, which are linked by a vinyasa sequence. Enjoy this type of practice for fitness and stress release.
